There are some occasions when only a woodland walk will do!
Muddy or not, woodland walks enable you to enjoy a natural landscape with many beautiful views.
Slanting golden sunlight illuminates the woodland scenes, carpeted with bluebells in the spring.
So, slow down from time to time and stop and smell the flowers. Breath in the aromas from the trees whilst you wonder by the plants that grow there. Woodland walks are memorable!
The woods near me are home to a variety of wildlife, with a chance to spot soaring birds of prey and deer, so if I remember to stop and be very very quiet I might just spot one. The woods are perfect for exploring on foot with plenty of places to stop and fill up on tasty treats whilst enjoying the incredible scenery.
So, leave behind the hustle and bustle of modern everyday life and reconnect with yourself and nature. In Japan, they call it shinrin-yoku – or “forest bathing.” Here, we might just call it a walk in the woods.
What are your favourite things about walking in a woodland? Where is your favourite woodland walk?
